Dear Intuition Friend –
Gary (my hubby), Sylvie (our dog) and Buddy Boy (our cat) had the good fortune to spend the coldest part of the winter down in Florida this year. It was quite a different experience from where we usually live in snowy Maine.
I’ve always found being away from home a mixture of exhilarating and stressful. This year it was more of the latter. We lived through Hurricane Ian and then a microburst that took the roof off of the house next to us! Add in an overnight hospital stay for Gary, and it added up to a less than relaxing time.
Fast forward to last weekend. We had intended to begin our drive back to Maine on a Sunday. On Saturday I taught a 3-hour Zoom seminar. When I finished, I decided we should leave that day. That's when my intuition began coming in loud and clear…
- You’re doing too much!
- Slow down.
- Take care of yourself.
- Take time to rest.
- It’s okay to take an extra day.
You get the idea! But did I listen? No! We took off on Saturday afternoon with me hell bent on making it to Georgia before nightfall.
Two hours into the drive we stopped for a break. Mine ended up being a literal break...
I fell off the curb at a REST STOP and broke my ankle.
The irony is not lost on me. The Universe has a sense of humor. Did I get the message to REST and STOP? Yes. After being x-rayed at an urgent care facility, we booked an overnight stay at a local hotel. We were given the only room they had left…#222. That’s my number for divine synchronicity — a message that Spirit is looking out for me.
Lastly, I’m okay! Fortunately, it was a minor break — just a message from the Universe to slow down and take it easy. I’m back in Maine and enjoying a few naps, cuddling with the animals and reading a good book (with my foot propped up, of course!). Friends, it’s nice to be home.
