What’s Your Sign?
Okay… this is too funny not to share!
Some background…
In 2001 my book, “Divine Intuition” was first published. Since then it’s become a classic in the field of intuition and been printed in over 14 languages. It’s been a steady seller and the book I’m most known for. Over the past few months I’ve been entertaining the fantasy that Dorling Kindersley, the publisher, was going to issue a 10th anniversary issue. So imagine my surprise when my literary agent calls with the news that DK has decided to no longer publish “Divine.”
Now, without going into all the details, let’s just say when I heard the news I had a meltdown. I cried and yelled at God about how unfair this was, how hard I’d worked to promote the book and how betrayed and abandoned I felt.
The next day I was still feeling pretty bad, but perhaps a little calmer. In fact, I had even awakened with a few fledging ideas about a new project.
I was confused and a bit ambivalent about this new idea, so I asked God for a sign that I was headed in the right direction. I was expecting an unusual butterfly or bird to show up, a song on the radio, or some words on a billboard . . . you know, the usual kind of “sign from God” thing.
All day long nothing out of the ordinary happens. However, every time I felt discouraged, I just kept repeating, “God, I want to know that Your hand is on my life.”
By the evening, nothing. No sign from God. At this point I decided that the only thing that was going to make me feel better was a good, old-fashioned, hot fudge sundae. So off we went to the local Dairy Queen, where the following image showed up as part of the topping.
P.S. The sundae was divine

Thank you for sharing this. I love knowing that this happens to other people. Including the doubts and the signs soon afterwards. This is the kind of sign that is hard to dismiss. Of course, I don’t dismiss anything now. But this one is more than just a whisper.:) So, I wonder what’s next?:)

I love how God shows up as hot fudge!
Perhaps another publisher will pick up Divine…or simply that God has better plans and will unfold them in good time.
Love,
Peggy
Cute
Hi Lynn,
That is amazing. And I assume that sundae was calorie free.
the signs do come when and where we least expect it, but I am glad you kept looking.
good luck with your new direction – we benefit from all you do.

That is how I feel right now. I am searching for a sign.
fabulous wonderful story, Lynn! and I love that God has a sense of humor. And next time I need a sign, I’ll cut to the chase and head for Dairy Queen!!
Love it Lynn. Made me laugh too
Maybe the sign was that DK were having you on ….?!
Thanks for all your wonderful comments! I love that God finds unusual ways to communicate with us. I’m working on some audio prayers for my website. Hopefully they’ll be up by the beginning of September.
Dear Ms. Robinson,
I should have written this in a personal note, but after receiving your newsletter today, and reading this blog, I think this is the appropriate place to share my personal story about your book Divine Intuition.
I personally am grateful for what this book has helped me to accomplish in my life. I purchased my first copy back in 2002, but I tore it up a few years later when all my dreams “went down the drain”. Long story short, 8 years later, I’m on my 4th personal copy of Divine Intuition. Yes, I went through 3 copies before I finally found the courage and determination to stick with my dreams. I was in doubt, because they never made sense to anyone but me, and through all four books, those thought provoking exercises all led me back to the same dreams. At 38 years old, I finally believe in myself, and know without a doubt my dreams are not an accident. Recently, I’ve experienced a major transformation in my life, I have started living my dreams one by one. After all these years, the dearest dream to my heart is just on the brink of manifesting.
I have since blessed family and friends with their own copy of Divine Intuition. Just three weeks ago a friend of mine asked me – what was that book you’ve been recommending for me? We ended up driving that eveing for 3 hours – no lie and no exaggeration – to get the last copy in stock at a Barnes & Noble in Duluth, GA. We finally reached the store at 10:58pm and closing was 11pm. It was their last copy in stock, and the advised me that the book was out of print. I told my girlfriend if we weren’t able to get it at a B & N, we would try Amazon. My girlfriend was shocked. I said this book is worth all of that driving time and more. The following week she called to tell me that after reading the first two chapters, she just broke down and cried. Just like I did. She’s 45 years old.
Thank you so very much for all your inspiration.
This book is too powerful to stay out of print.
