Drive Time Prayer
During this time of economic uncertainty there are many of us experiencing personal crisis. Prayer is so important when you’re feeling uncertain and seeking direction and guidance.
I believe that prayer is how we communicate with God, and intuition is one of the ways He answers.
When your life turns upside down, it seems like the one commodity you most need is time. If you find yourself spending a lot of time in your car, make it prayer time. As you sit in the driveway or in the parking lot, place your hands on the wheel. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and ask God to steer you through your day.
My client, Karen says she does this every morning before leaving for work. Instead of a “to do” list, she thinks of her “to be” list. She spends her drive time dwelling on qualities she’d like to develop such as “patient,” “calm,” and “compassionate.” As she thinks of the word, she imagines she is breathing in the quality. Karen feels it has helped her immeasurably as she combines a full-time job with caring for her aging parents.
